Like many things in Japan, the process (ritual) is equally, if not more important than the actual result/ outcome (fight).

The winner administers water to the next fighter.
Before entering the ring, salt is thrown to disperse bad spirits. The higher the throw, the higher the hopes for the bout.
Ritual stretching.
View from the top. The fellow in the middle is the umpire.
Even the advertising is done in style. The more advertising before a bout, the higher the prize money. An announcer makes sure each sponsor is mentioned and their products are explained (fish flavor, wasabi flavor, see weed flavor…).
